Emma Scott's Pluggin' Baby Show to Join Big Ear Radio

Emma Scott

Veteran radio presenter of over 30 years, Emma Scott has today joined Big Ear Radio with her 2-hour weekly programme which features the most exciting independent talent from her radio plugging business, Pluggin Baby, which she has been running since 2013.

A long and authentic career in music...

The show, which comes from her own Cambridgeshire home studio, will also play established bands who have fired up Emma’s musical passion since she started her radio career back in 1988.

Acoustic sets and interviews with familiar artists and classic tracks, as well as introductions to fresh new bands, should keep ears and the imagination fired up with its weekly offering.

New and established artists...

As Emma shines the spotlight on her favourite artists and encounters from over the years; exhilarating new sounds will lie seamlessly side by side with the likes of “Shinedown, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Paramore, Stereophonics, Jimmy Eat World, Placebo, and of course - Muse!”, the latter a band openly beloved by the lady herself. “So good, I named my company after one of their songs!” she declared.

Radio in her blood...

THE PLUGGIN’ BABY RADIO SHOW is already whipping up excitement in the same way Emma has over the years with the likes of Kerrang! Radio, Metro FM, Hallam FM, Power FM, Chiltern Radio, Heart, Galaxy, Juice and many more.

In the words of Emma, “Having worked in the music industry for over 30 years, I have radio in my blood” and as the show will epitomise and the music industry can attest to over the past couple of decades or so, the supporting and promoting of new bands and great sounds lies deep in her heart, it all brought forth once more with the fun and passion only rock ‘n’ roll can inspire.

A fresh exciting breath in every sense, the Pluggin Baby Radio Show joins Big Ear from the 17th September 2022.

I guess it's time we really started to embrace Twitter by reaching out to the twitterati, tempting them to join us here on Big Ear Radio. I mean, we don't just want anyone listening - of course, only the best type of listeners will do, people who like a friendly station, great presenters, superb music, real vision, a genuine wish to help people and reach right around the World...

And one which will give all its profits away to those in need...

Yes of course, one which will give all it's profits, above running costs, to help those living with disability or disadvantage.

And one which actually listens to it's listeners and what they want...

Yes, yes again, one that gives it's listeners what they want to listen to...

And one which is nothing like the cliche' competition...

Oh absolutely, we are certainly unique... we'd say! So check us out and follow us on twitter too, you can find us here: https://twitter.com/TrevorKrueger6

Britain, is in mourning

HM-The-Queen-ONLINE-USE-ONLY

Queen Elizabeth II, has died at the age of 96, on the afternoon of the 8th of September 2022.

She died peacefully with all her family around her, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, her favourite home and the place where she was said to be the happiest.

She reigned over Britain and the Commonwealth for a record 70 years.

It was reported that in 2021 she was sad to leave Balmoral at the end of her annual visit, saying to a member of her staff that, next time, she must stay a little longer. She always slept better and longer at Balmoral and now she sleeps, forever.

It has been said by many that she was loved, not just by her own nation, but by many nations around the World. She had visited over 100 countries during her reign, far more than any royal, before her.

For the UK, it feels like we have lost the head of the family, a wonderful Grandmother, who was always watching over us with love, great dignity and pride.

Britain will mourn the loss of its, “Queen of the World” as it celebrates the beginning of a whole new era, in its history.

The entire team of Equal Ability Radio, “Big Ear”, send their deepest sympathy to the Royal family at this very sad time.

Britain now has a new King, her eldest son and the former Prince of Wales, King Charles III.

God Bless and rest in peace, Queen Elizabeth II and long live King Charles III.

BSL on course to feature in British school curriculum at GCSE level

Robert-Halfon-MP-on-Sticks

Caring for everyone

As a radio station serving everyone, but with a special focus on the needs of those living with a disability or disadvantage, we are constantly working to ensure no one is left un-catered for.

To this end, we are particularly aware of our responsibility to the deaf and hearing impaired, not always easy to support through radio broadcasts alone.

Big Ear Radio campaigning for BSL in Schools

Along with our partners in education, we had been planning to campaign for BSL to be taught in all schools. So we turned to our local Conservative MP for Harlow, Robert Halfon, a true supporter of Equal Ability Radio's "Big Ear" project, to seek his advice on the best way forward.

Robert Halfon, MP for Harlow and Chair of the Commons Education Select Committee, said, " I am delighted that BSL will be offered in schools as part of the school curriculum. I understand that the Department for Education is working to introduce a GCSE in BSL as soon as possible and that the Government is aiming to consult publicly on the draft subject content this year. As an ongoing supporter of Equal Ability Radio's "Big Ear" project, I will be monitoring the progress closely."

Supporting the drive to learn BSL

Equal Ability Radio will now be able to turn its attentions to the production of short videos teaching rudimentary BSL to youngsters and their significant adults. Our course videos will be freely available, lots of fun and an ideal entry level support for anyone wishing to learn BSL.

We are grateful to our partners at "Deaf Animation World and "Study Sharpe" for joining us in this endeavour and we are excited about sharing the course around the World.

Please watch this space for news in the not-too-distant future.

When all you can do is wait...

waiting-patiently

The future is looking SO exciting... we can't wait to get really stuck into it.

But, we are still waiting for our charitable registration to be completed... and the wait seems endless.

Crawling when we should be flying

Every week Big Ear Radio continues to put out at least 20 hours of new listening content, that takes a lot of time and effort, not to mention dedication. Everything we achieve is down to the hard work of our passionate and determined team of creatives, both in the UK and USA, diligently Beavering away week after we to ensure we are always able to deliver the great shows we are known for - and we all love doing it.

But we are all working with minimal resources and from facilities that keep us fractured and making-do. We really need our studio, fully equipped and spacious, with room to work together, share the load, develop ideas and maximise our team potential.

The one that got away

This week we found the perfect premises for our new studio to be based in. Smart, the right size, modern, secure, good parking, perfect location etc. It was exactly what we are looking for. Sadly, we couldn't take it - because we aren't yet funded. It was heart breaking to miss out on the ideal home for Big Ear Radio.

Hopefully we'll get our registration sorted out soon and we'll be able to pursue major sponsors that will finally enable us to fly and move forward.

It's really frustrating being held back when we are desperate to fulfil our potential, but without funding - we have no choice.

Maybe you could help change the future for us?

Software crash hits 2 Chart Shows and News & Update

Can-not-find-the-problem

48 hours of investigation fails to unearth software glitch

This weekend Big Ear has been hit with the most frustrating software failure it's ever seen. Normally faultless and reliable, our recording and editing software is having a tantrum!

For the last 48 hours we have been doing everything possible, both at this end and with the suppliers technicians, even downloading new replacement software - but amazingly no resolution to the crash has yet been found.

We're still working on it!

Of course we are continuing to investigate and will do so until we solve the issue, but for now we are missing the Pop Chart Show and the ever popular Soul Chart Show, plus - the News with Annette Caster and Trevor Krueger's own Folk & Acoustic Show. We have been able to replay an earlier Folk Show to keep things as fresh as possible for the time being

As soon as we find a solution we will update our current loop to include these popular shows, meanwhile everything is there as normal plus a few extra shows to top up the variety.

We are of course, very sorry, but it's just one of those annoying things sent to frustrate us.

There are still plenty of great new regular shows to enjoy!

And, sine we posted the above, the situation has been resolved and all of this weeks shows are now available on the loop. Software problems still persist but the experts are working on it, so let's hope we are all sorted in time for the next upload...

Big Ear Radio Charity Registration Imminent

Big-Ear-Charity-Imminent

After 20 weeks of waiting patiently the long anticipated call finally came form the Charity Commission - and the news was good!

Once we have made and submitted some simple textual amendments to our constitution, the Charity Commission will grant our registration and issue us with the all important number and documents we need to move forward.

Fund raising can finally begin

Efforts to raise much needed funds is always difficult prior to registration, but now that we can offer corporate sponsors all that comes with supporting good causes, we can finally make inroads into fund raising and establishing the studio facilities we so desperately need. Space and equipment is crucial to our expansion and we hope to find that, very soon, in our local Harlow area.

Your support would be very welcome

As you will know, Big Ear Radio aims to be mostly self supportive through the sale of commercial advertising and merchandise, but that only comes once we've sufficiently grown our global audience. So for now we continue to rely on the help of our listeners and supporters to make headway. If you would like to make a donation please let us know and we'll naturally help you all we can. Thank you!

Most importantly

We are making good progress and we are all so excited at the prospect of continuing to deliver great content to our global audience with more enthusiasm than ever. Our team is growing larger, our content expanding and our mission to help those in greatest need is much closer to being served.

Could you be who we are looking for?

Big Ear Radio is getting ready for expansion, so we're looking for new team members.

Radio offers a great opportunity to bring so much to your life. Apart from becoming known and loved by our listeners, you'll find it really stretches your talents in all directions, probably more than they've been stretched for a while. So here's an opportunity for you to reach your true potential while having great fun and doing your bit for the global community.

What's your passion?

Presenting comes in all sorts of guises of course, and we place no limits on what we are looking for right now. If your passion is music - great! But if you're more into News, Sport, Gardening, Scriptwriting, Story Telling, Life Improvement, Theatre Reviews, Astronomy or the art of Underwater Origami - we'd love to hear from you.

Do you need to be near our studio?

No, not at all. You can record your show remotely from home, or anywhere you have access to a quiet area and recording facilities which, by the way can be set up on your home computer in no time. What we need is great content that our listeners will find both interesting and entertaining and, as we target a global audience, your individuality is even more precious. We need all sorts of voices to satisfy all sorts of ears.

Up for it?

If you'd like to know more, drop us a line and let us answer all of your questions, there's no obligation and we will of course have to make sure we can see your potential, mainly we need to see the most confident version of yourself. Trevor Krueger Folk Show plays Uri Geller's National Anthem

Uri-Geller-master-class

Something amazing happened on the Trevor Krueger Folk Show this week, we played a new piece of music by World famous Mystic and Guru - Uri Geller. It was the national anthem for Lamb Island, performed by Uri Geller himself, Lamb Island is Uri's new micro-nation.

Uri is now offering everyone a very special opportunity - to become a certificated citizen.

Become a Citizen of Uri Geller's Micro-Nation

For just one dollar you can become a citizen of Lamb Island, just off the coast of Scotland. The island isn't quite big enough to live on, unless you are one of the thousands of wild birds who got there first, but by becoming a citizen you will be supporting a great cause.

Support Youths with Heart Disease

Uri is pledging that all the money raised from this great fun opportunity will help fund medical care for youths with Heart Disease and you'll be in great company too. Uri, being the icon that he is, has already attracted a lot of attention and some well known residents, to get things started.

Celebrities join the rush to become citizens of Uri's Micro-Nation.

So far, we understand that both Stephen Fry and Peter Andre have become citizens and... Tom Cruise, amongst others, is waiting in the wings! And talking of wings... Uri plans his own national football team!

If you want to become a citizen, get yourself to www.urigeller.com right now.

Robert Halfon MP for Harlow steps in to help Big Ear Radio

Conservative Party Portraits
Rt. Hon. Robert Halfon MP
Chair of the Commons Education Select Committee

Has stepped in to assist Big Ear Radio in an attempt to advance the progress of registration as a CIO Company with the Charity Commission in the UK.

Registration is essential if we are to be able to pursue sponsorship and donations, essential to fund our progress and ongoing development.

Funds urgently required for a new Live Broadcast Studio

Our current output relies on 20+ hours a week of pre-recorded content, but it is essential to move to phase two and offer live content that includes much more than music.

It has always been our intention to feature more news and factual content, alongside drama, comedy, game shows, documentaries, interviews and so-on.

Delays in Charitable registration have placed Big Ear Radio at severe risk as we battle to maintain our position without any significant support from sponsors or donors.

It is hoped that Mr Halfon's intervention will expedite matters and enable Big Ear to secure the support it needs to satisfy a growing and vital audience.
